Duke of Cambridge presented with Battlelines book

HRH the Duke of Cambridge attended the launch of the Centenary Fields initiative at the Coventry War Memorial Park yesterday, organized by the Royal British Legion and Coventry City Council. He unveiled a plaque as part of the launch, and also laid a wreath at the Coventry War Memorial and joined local schoolchildren in sowing poppy seeds and other activities.

One of the schoolchildren, eleven-year-old Alisha Bennett - granddaughter of author Jerry Murland - presented Prince William with a copy of The Retreat From Mons - North ahead of his trip to the First World War battlefields next month. The book was very gratefully received and not only caught the interest of the Prince, but also of his ADC who spent the next 10 minutes avidly reading it.
