I’ve always liked Oasis but admit I don’t know a lot about them aside from their most popular songs and a few albums I bought when I was young. With the tour coming up that I excitedly have tickets for I thought it would be good to get some background knowledge and learn more. This book was really well written and I loved how it was set out with a list at the beginning of all the characters that were involved in the Oasis journey. As the book progressed it was good to read sections from different people and to hear their points of view. I really enjoyed the book and I definitely learned lots of new facts. The discography and filmography at the back of the books were also great and I am looking forward to the return of Oasis.

Boris Karloff, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee were familiar faces to me. This book was a delight to read and a fantastic nostalgia boost. There was so much information that I never knew, all presented in an easy-to-read and entertaining format. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. I could tell the author truly appreciated these actors and movies as much as my dad and I did.

Although new, I have become quickly enamored with the show and I have been eager to learn about it and its history as much as I can. This book truly is an encyclopedia of companions and the author, Dana Fox, has given quite a bit of thought about who belongs in this illustrious list. I got to learn more about Classic Who from biographies of each companion and discussion about what was happening with Doctor Who as it evolved and became an integral part of British culture. As the book explored the Modern Era (NuWho), I smiled with recognition as I got to learn more about the people behind the companions I am already familiar with and got something to look forward to for the Doctors I have yet to see.
