Exceptionally well written and an inherently fascinating read, "The Castle in the Wars of the Roses" is an impressively informative and seminal contribution to the literature on the Wars of the Roses in general, and to the study of siege warfare in the Middle Ages in particular. Very highly recommended for personal, professional, community, and academic library British Military History collections and supplemental Medieval Warfare curriculum studies lists, it should be noted that "The Castle in the Wars of the Roses" is also readily available in a digital book format.

In addition to an informative Introduction, "Battles of the Wars of the Rose" is further informatively enhanced by historian David Cohen with the inclusion of numerous black/white illustrations, a one page Bibliography, a one page listing of Primary Sources, and a six page Index. Exceptionally well written, organized and presented, "Battles of the Wars of the Rose" is highly recommended for both community and academic library 15th Century English History collections and supplemental curriculum studies lists. A wonderful book for any history lover. The War of the Roses is complicated to follow, but this book is written in a way that engages the reader and makes the players in the war easy to follow and remember. A must for any Tudor history fan.

I very much enjoyed reading 'The Castle in the Wars of the Roses'. As someone from Lancashire (whose cat is, in fact, named Bosworth), I knew a largely one-sided account of the war itself; this novel helped broaded my understanding on equal sides. Thank you to Dr Dan Spencer for this book, and to Netgalley, and Pen and Sword for allowing me to read this.
