Dorlies von Kaphengst Meissner Rasmussen was born in 1943 to Ruth & Hans-Rudolf Meissner at Klein Pobloth Estate. Dorlies’s illustrious career as an interior designer afforded her the honour of attending the Harrods Line of Furniture & Accessories Kick-Off Party, where she met Mohamed Al-Fayed & Countess Raine Spencer. On Dorlies’s return flight to the USA, 9/11 occurred, loosely resembling her memories of experiences fleeing at the end of WWII. Strokes followed, causing her to lose her ability to read and write. She began writing by listening to her parents’ recorded narratives, absorbing the tapes, and with the help of computers. As she regained her skills, Dorlies was determined to keep a promise to her parents: to tell their family’s story. Now, with Escaping the Russian Onslaught, she can finally share the stories that only she can tell.
