I remember sitting in front of the TV in our family room on Sunday September 17, 1978, to watch the three hour debut of this show. At age 13, I was all in on sci-fi thanks to Logan's Run and Star Wars from a few years before. I watched every week faithfully. I even bought the comic books published by Marvel and the novelization. I even once started writing my own sci-fi story inspired by Galactica. So, seeing this cover brought back all those nostalgic feels for me.
Fratantuono gives love to this single season of television. His dedication to the show is on full display in this book. I appreciated the inclusion of eight pages of color photos in the book as well.

In the 1970's, I grew up on Disney animation. Most weekends were topped by Sunday night's Wonderful World of Disney and afternoons occasionally provided reruns of the classic Mickey Mouse Club from decades before. When the films came out of the vaults for their cyclical returns, I hit the theaters with family. Thus, I had to check this one out. Thomas' approach is in interesting one. He hits each of the films in chronological order, devoting a short chapter to each in turn. Given the length, we naturally are not getting every fact about the films. He provides details relating to the making of each one along with other interesting factoids. Most of these are likely known to the true Disney-devoted, but I often found myself picking up a new tidbit here and there. It is definitely an author's prerogative to decide what they are focusing on and how to deliver their narrative. I found this one touched on personal connections and felt it was all delivered in a rather easy-going, conversational.. Read more

This is a title that works at a couple of levels. If you’re a Bond fan, it’s a fascinating guide to UK locations which feature in Bond films. The films are listed and the locations are set out by country and county, with references to locate the places. If your travelling, it’s an ideal companion to take you to places you may not have thought about as a place of interest and I was surprised to discover a number of locations I didn’t know had Bond connections. It’s packed with photos and pictures and there’s a wealth of Bond related information for the film buff. I’ve found it interesting to read without actually travelling and it’s proved relaxing and informed. I’ve noted a few places if interest next time I’m out and about and will certainly take a physical look at the locations.
