Living with Allergies (Hardback)
Practical Tips for All the Family
Allergies are on the rise and now affect over 40% of the UK population. Living with allergies has a huge impact on day-to-day life and this book provides practical tips for all the family.
Through interviews with leading allergy experts and people managing the conditions, it provides insight into each allergic condition and how to manage them at different life stages.
It contains in-depth information on diagnosis, treatment, immunotherapy and coping with allergy anxiety, plus tips the doctors don't tell you. How do you manage your allergies at social events? How do you keep your child safe at school? How can you travel abroad with allergies?
This book brings together all the information and advice you need to understand your allergies and manage them in a proactive and positive way.
Newly diagnosed must have!
I am a parent to a Coeliac daughter and I myself have allergies and intolerance's so that's a hat trick, auto immune, allergy, intolerance.
This book is written in a style that I can follow and not feel bamboozled by science (many articles I've read confuse me with too much science) that said, the advice and information in the book is provided by the top professionals in the allergy industry so you know that each source can be trusted. I also happen to know a couple of the families interviewed in the book so I'm thrilled their stories are being heard.
When you have a child newly diagnosed your world implodes, there's a grieving period (that never really goes away) and you feel alone even in a room full of professionals. Emma Amoscato's book is like a friend that understands giving you a huge reassuring hug; you're not alone, and it's going to okay.
While you will never stop learning and each day can be a challenge, this book takes some of the guess work out of it.
I liked this book. It is informative.NetGalley, reviewed by Curious Reader
