Birth of Princess Charlotte of Wales

The only child of George, Prince of Wales (later George IV) and Caroline of Brunswick, Princess Charlotte of Wales (1796-1817) was the heiress presumptive to the throne, as the sole legitimate grandchild of George III. She was born at Carlton House on 7 January 1796.
