Death of Edward IV
9th April 1483
Upon the death of Edward IV on 9 April 1483, his son, the 12-year-old Edward became king. His uncle, Richard of Gloucester, was made protector of the realm. Edward V is never crowned, and disappears presumed murdered, after incarceration in the Tower of London with his younger brother.
