Died on this day - Lady Jane Grey

12th February 1554

Jane Grey was an English noblewoman remembered as the “Nine Days’ Queen,” ruling briefly in July 1553. Backed by Edward VI’s advisers as a Protestant alternative to the Catholic Mary I, she was quickly deposed when Mary seized power — and was later executed.
