A new collection of poetry by award-winning poet Brenda Sciberras. Separated into three sections, and written in the experimental ekphrasis form, the poet uses a detailed description of a particular painting by Mary Pratt, as a literary device. This process allowed for an emotional response and brought forth memories or associations from the poet's own personal experience, often using description beyond the frame of the artwork.

The poet has connected with Mary Pratt's surviving family members and received permission to both use and discuss the famed Canadian's iconic artworks.

The main focus of the collection is the creation of art, both literary and visual which centres around two women (the poet and the painter) at times blurring the lines between their individual lives. Riddled in Red draws fascinating parallels between visual art and the written word.
