English novelist Charlotte Brontë died on 31 March 1855 in Haworth, West Yorkshire. Charlotte, also known by the pseudonym Currer Bell, is best known for her novel Jane Eyre (1847). She was born on 21 April 1816 in Thornton, West Yorkshire.
