Based on archaeological and literary evidence, Elizabeth Rees has compiled a guidebook to 250 sites linked to Celtic saints. By no means comprehensive, since thousasnds of such sites exist, this book provides `a taster' of the monasteries, hermitages, chapels, holy wells, sacred caves and so forth, that can be found in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall and the rest of England. Descriptions of the sites and a short history are supplemented by directions and other useful information. The final section of the book lists the major saints associated with the sites mentioned in alphabetical order.
