The first global study of Iberian weaponry between the 6th and the 1st century BC. Based on a complete catalogue of the pre-Roman weapons in the peninsula containing more than 6,000 items it compares the archaeological material with other sources such as literature and iconography. Sanz analyses each type of weapon in depth, establishing its distribution as well as looking at the functional, symbolic, iconographical and military aspects. Relations between the Iberian culture and the mediterranean areas, the Celtic and the Celtiberean world, are also discussed. Spanish text.
