Modern Macramé Style is the ultimate guide into the world of macramé for beginners.

Macramé expert Amaia Martin, from La Terra Macramé, has created 20 unique projects to introduce you to this millenary art and make you fall in love with it!

You will be working with sustainable materials such as recycled cotton, jute and raffia, to create a selection of plant hangers, wall hangings and lifestyle items, that will help you develop your macramé skills, as well as adding warmth and a bohemian touch to your home interior.

Throughout the book, you will find tips and design variations that will allow you to adapt the projects to your style by using different fibres, colours or techniques.

Learn over 10 macramé knots and patterns that will allow you to master this craft and start making your own designs in the future. The world of Modern Macramé will be at your feet! You will be able to create anything from simple plant hangers to intricate lampshades, rugs or even a macramé chair.

You will also be introduced to another of Amaia’s passions, plants. She has selected her top 10 indoor plants to complement each of the plant hangers in this book, and added care tips to keep them looking their best.

Get ready for a crafty journey to a beautiful and sustainable home!

Good book about macrame. The intro section talks about materials, and it gives steps and photos for various knot types. Then the book gives projects, with directions and photos, in chapters on plant hangers, wall hangings, and home. I did really enjoy the bonus couple of pages about good types of plants to use in hangers. I feel good that I could make a project with a great end result using the instructions in here.

I just started exploring the art of macramé, so the Modern Macramé Style was the perfect guidebook for me!
I love that they used real photos to show the step-by-step for each knot rather than illustrations. In this way, I can follow and recreate the same knots easily. There are loads of useful information on materials, different type of knots, and amazing projects with unique patterns. This is simply a must-have for anyone who is looking to start their own macramé journey!

I was born in the 70’s. One of my aunts had a shit ton of macrame plant hangers and decorations hanging from the ceilings and walls. Her home was always a place of comfort, support, reggae music, and consistently overdone-on-the-bottom cookies. Perhaps all those are what lies behind my enduring love for macrame?

After the beginning tips and techniques, this book opens with plant hangers oh-so similar to those I used to see as a child. This chapter is followed by wall hangings, and home decorations. The layout is appealing and soothing. The author’s guidance is encouraging and kind. The photos in this book were all so appealing that they made me want to immediately go out and get all the supplies needed to start my own journey of macrame.

This is a lovely book that serves as an inspirational and instructive guide. I’m so pleased to have received a electronic copy of this wonderful book from the publisher and I am planning on picking up a physical copy for my own crafting.

Let me start by saying I am a complete beginner when it comes to Macramé. I knit, I crochet and I have tried weaving too but Macramé is something that’s been on my list to try for quite a while.

This book is perfection! There is not a single pattern that I don’t like, I want to make everything in this book. Not only are they beautiful and modern but I think they’re very much doable with the clear, easy to follow instructions! It also combines my other love- plants! Amaia tells you which plants are best and includes care tips, this is such a good idea and something I don’t think I’ve ever seen in a crafting book before.

I will absolutely be buying a physical copy of this book for my crafting bookshelf! I can’t wait to try my first pattern.

I would highly recommend, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a total beginner like me.

A fun instructional book with plenty of pictures and diagrams to help get you started on your journey with Macrame. Now you can use all your knot skills you've learned in scouts. This book includes ideas for planter hangings, wall hangings for home and children, and other home items including bags, table runners, and pillow covers.

Really great collection of projects, and would recommend it to someone who had tried the craft before and looking for a project that's new and cool to do.

Twenty projects for the home with step by step instructions in words and pictorials fill this book. I like almost all of them and I think the time taken to practise will be very rewarding. They would make great gifts for new home owners, aside from lovely decorations for your own abode. They add great texture to the decor and don’t look old fashioned at all. With enough practice, you could even make your own designs, which is the ultimate aim of the author. I like that you don’t need that many supplies and tools to complete a project.

Beautiful photographs throughout show how to use the macrame masterpieces. Now to get my hands on some rope!
