This collection of sixteen papers, three of which derive from the Neolithic Studies Group meeting in 2003, are given in honour of Isobel Smith who has been a pre-eminent scholar in Neolithic studies and is especially known for her work at sites such as Windmill Hill and Avebury. The essays reflect her archaeological interests and bring together a number of renowned scholars. Papers include: enclosure and monumentality, and the Mesolithic - Neolithic continuum (Ropger Mercer) ; timber circles, henges and stone circle (Alex Gibson) ; the later Neolithic repertoire: the Dinragit complex (Julian Thoams) ; east pf Avebury (Peter Fowler) ; soft-rock and organic twmpering in British Neolithic pottery (Tim Darvill) . The book ends with a bibliography of Isobel Smith's published work.
