Langeton was a long time civil servant and the treasurer of Edward I. He was arrested on Edward II's orders and spent five years under investigation and trial, and often imprisoned, before being freed, all proceedings against him being dropped and his lands returned to him. By January 1312 Edward was trying to make him his treasurer. This volume contains the Proceedings of the Exchequer for the Collection of Langeton's Debts 1307-1311; Evidence given by Langeton before the Exchequer; and a Hearing of Complaints against Langeton 1307-1310. Texts in Latin; brief introduction and index.
