Fr John-Paul Sheridan presents Pope Francis with a box set of all three volumes of 'Treasures of Irish Christianity'. This follows mass in Casa Santa Marta with Fr Sheridan's ordination class to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of their ordination. The third volume of 'Treasures of Irish Christianity' will be published in the next few weeks, and we are also pleased to announce that we will have a limited number of box sets for sales, containing all three volumes. This third volume of Treasures of Irish Christianity looks at ‘the Irish abroad’ from the earliest centuries to the present day, with a special emphasis on the historical contribution of Irish missionaries. Topics include a seventeenthcentury Church of Ireland clergyman’s account of being captured by North African pirates; the Irish priest who debated with the American abolitionist John Brown before his execution in 1859; Irish military chaplains in the First World War; the Irish missionary who met Mao Tse-tung, and much more. Treasures of Irish Christianity Volume III follows in the wake of the highly successful Treasures of Irish Christianity Volumes I and II, which were published to great acclaim in 2012 and 2013 respectively. This third volume is also richly illustrated.
