Each entry has some background text on the design and use of the individual vehicles, along with a table listing basic specifications. Add a lot of colour photos illustrating the text and this is a very useful reference, maybe for veterans who served their tours in theatre, historians and modellers alike. Lots to like in here for a good value little book.

If you were there, this book of photographs will be a treasure trove of memories - not all good I am certain! If you were not there the photographs will be revealing as to the way of life of young Parachute Regiment troopers living and fighting in the most demanding and dangerous conditions. The photographs bring to life the reality of soldiering in a Forward Operating Base or out on patrol where every step is of potential jeopardy. The pages of photographs are linked with illuminating and carefully drafted low key clarification ensuring the reader is aware of context.
An excellent work suitable for all those with an interest in the modern army, their weapon systems, equipment and vehicles which are all clearly presented in these quality colour photographs.

Afghanistan Dispossessed is a serious book about Afghanistan post the war. Dr. Raza Sultanova painstakingly researched and addressed what survived of Afghan culture - primarily music.
Dr. Sultanova includes personal information including what prompted this story. There was very little information about the Soviet invasion when she lived in Russia and she was surprised how mislead she was by the news. As a musicologist, she let her own training lead her in her research. This is a very interesting and sobering look at a land which is still under fire from the Taliban.
