His particular fields of interest include the Military Police, in which both he and his father served, and the German Navy, with special emphasis on the U-Boats. He has written over fifty books on military subjects, including numerous titles dealing with the U-Boats as well as other branches of the Kriegsmarine which have been translated into several languages.
