eBooks Help

We sell two different types of eBooks: Kindle and ePub. Please choose the correct format for your eReader. As a guide, if you have a Kindle device please select the Kindle version, and for other eReaders (including iOS devices such as iPads) please choose ePub. Look under the ‘other formats available’ header on the product page to switch between ePub and Kindle. If you purchase the incorrect version, email us quoting your order number and we will add the correct version to your account and send a replacement download link.

You will need an eReader to view your eBook files. There are free eReader apps which you can download from the internet such as Calibre, which will read both ePub and Kindle files. You can also download the Kindle app for PC or Mac, and Mac users can view eBooks through iBooks.

Please note: The Kindle Cloud has a file size limit of 50MB. Some of our Kindle files exceed this file size and therefore cannot be sent wirelessly to your Kindle device/app and can’t be backed up to Kindle cloud library – therefore you won’t be able to access it from any other device.

Installing eBooks onto the Kindle app

Send to Kindle: The Kindle app is available to download free for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android phone and tablet. You can download Kindle eBooks to your device and open them in the Kindle app, or you can use Amazon’s Send to Kindle applications. Visit Send to Kindle to find the correct option to best suit your needs. Please note, Amazon’s Cloud has a personal file size limit of 50MB and you will not be able to send files above this size using Send to Kindle.

For Kindle eBooks larger than 50MB: There are a few options to try. You will need to download the Kindle to your computer first.

  1. You can use a program such as Calibre to compress the file or remove the images to reduce the size to smaller than 50MB and then use the Send to Kindle option.
  2. Use a cloud storage service such as Dropbox or Google Drive (you will need an account to be able to use this option). Add the file from your computer to your Dropbox account via the web browser or desktop app. Open Dropbox on your device, eg iPad. Select the file and choose the Export option. Select ‘Copy to Kindle’ from the ‘Open in’ menu. The Kindle app should then open and load the file.
  3. If your device is an iPad or iPhone, you can use the iTunes app on your computer. Connect the device to the computer and select it from the icon (top left). Click ‘Apps’ from the sidebar on the left. Scroll down to File Sharing and select Kindle. Drag the eBook file from the desktop into the Kindle documents box, and once the upload has finished click ‘Done’ and disconnect your device.
