Every night, Dora’s dad puts her to bed, but tonight Dora doesn’t want to go to sleep yet, so instead she decides to ask her dad a question. "Just one more thing . . . and then bedtime!”
What Dora and her dad didn’t know is that once you start wondering about the universe and the reasons why things are the way they are in the world, you will find yourself asking one question after the other.
Dora’s dad answers every question she has, but as the clock ticks and time goes by, will Dora continue asking questions or will sleep finally allow them both to continue dreaming?
A heart-warming tale about how children will do anything to delay their bedtime and how we will never run out of things to be curious and grateful for.
A funny picture book about a very relatable topic! It's filled with lovely illustrations and humorous scenarios. I especially love the cover.

With all the wonders of the universe to experience each day, why would any child welcome bedtime? Author and illustrator Menahem Halberstadt acknowledges this wrinkle in his warm, humorous picture book, which opens with the Hebrew blessing that thanks God for the wonders of creation… . Halberstadt captures the blessing of the natural world’s gifts, as experienced by one fortunate family.

'With a vibe reminiscent of the cartoon Bluey, a simple bedtime turns into a philosophical flight of fancy. Dad tries to put Naomi and the baby to bed, while patiently responding to his daughter's many gratitudes: that we only have two legs so we don't have to find three socks, that Shabbat comes every seven days so we don't get exhausted, and so on. Cleverly humorous illustrations show the kids perking up as the dad succumbs to sleep, where they finally join him for a cuddle. Dad's tshirt is emblazoned with a hamsa and the word "MAZAL" - luck, subtly reinforcing the theme of everyday miracles. Translated from Hebrew, the frontispiece retains a Hebrew and English prayer thanking God for making things just as they are, a perfect fit for this uniquely charming story.’

This is a cute tale of one exhausted father trying to get his wide-awake household off to sleepyland. The oldest child keeps up a running list of astute and amusing observances that Dad must ponder, which further tires him out. I'm sure any parent who has struggled to get a young one down at night will sympathize, and enjoy this book.

This book pulled up my heartstrings. It is an easy children’s book to read before bed, but I also talked about how no matter who your parents are, if they are both men or both women, or if they identify something different, or they have any race or their disability that the love the parent has, for the child is unconditional and unmoving and it’s just absolutely beautiful. I didn’t think a children’s book touch my heart so well, but it did, and I would 100% recommend.

Laugh out loud story of childhood imagination and stubborn nature. The Wild stories of this very informative thought divergent discussion is totally hilariously. As this child brings to mind many of the questions we all have thought but never had the ability to say.

This book is adorable. It's about all the ways kids keep themselves and us as parents up at night. It has cool illustrations of all the imaginings in the book.
This is a cute story about a very large father who is trying to put his two very small children to bed.

Unsuccessfully.
Because each time he makes an attempt to get them to settle, his little girl comes up with "just one more thing" she needs to discuss before bedtime! And in the end, he cracks before they do...
The illustrations are quirky and very appealing and the story has a great deal of humour. The questions the little girl comes up with are as unique as they are creative. Enjoyable.

The Donkey and the Garden (Paperback)
When Akiva and his wife Rachel walk past a school one morning, Akiva looks in sadly. Unlike the children, he has never learned to read or write. ‘Wouldn’t you like to go inside and learn with them?’ Rachel asks. But Akiva fears the children will laugh at him. Rachel has an idea. She buys a donkey, plants a garden on its back and insists that she and Akiva take it with them to market. When they arrive, people laugh and point at such an unusual sight. The following morning, when Akiva refuses to join the children at school, Rachel suggests they go back to the market. Once again, the donkey…
