Our history imprint publishes titles aimed at history lovers and family historians eager to flesh out their research. Our books reveal what life was like in the past, both for ordinary people and those whose experiences were in some way extraordinary. We commission a wide range of titles: collections of personal stories tied together by a theme; accounts of historical scandals/crimes. We also hope to hear unconventional approaches to traditional topics, and ideas focusing on the grimmer side of history.

We have our own Facebook page where you’ll find regular updates, and we're also on Twitter (@PenSwordHistory). You can also email us for more information via
