Škoda was one of a number of companies working in the manufacturing plants of Czechoslovakia to produce advanced armaments in the late 1930’s. The race to modernise the weaponry of the Czech nation was intense, and the rest of the world was well aware of the excellent designs which were emerging and being offered for export. The Nazi German state took over the Czech nation, and immediately began to use the best tanks and guns for their own use. The LT vz.35 was a very capable tank and was taken into the Wehrmacht as the PzKpfw 35(t), although not considered to be as good as their own Panzer III. These tanks played a prominent role in the invasions of France, Balkans and Russia. Other nations used the tanks, sometimes with minor variations, and these included Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
