The Bradley Fighting Vehicle was developed in the 1970s to counter the new Infantry Fighting Vehicles of the Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact allies. Designed to survive the imagined high-intensity, Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) battlefield of the Cold War, it became, alongside the M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank, the mainstay of US armoured forces during the 1980s. As the Cold War ended, however, it would go on to prove its worth on other battlefields. During the First Gulf War the Bradley would destroy more Iraqi AFVs than the Abrams, while during the 1990s it would prove itself an effective weapons system in the missions to Bosnia and Kosovo. During the 2003 invasion of the Iraq and the fighting that followed it confirmed its reputation as a versatile and deadly AFV.

This volumes examines the development and service history of both the M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle and the M3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle. The various modifications and improvements over its long service history are described, as is the experience of the soldiers who have fought alongside and in it during the past three decades. The book also gives a full account of the wide range of kits and accessories available in all the popular scales and includes a modelling gallery covering the most important Bradley variants. Detailed colour profiles provide both reference and inspiration for modellers and military enthusiasts alike.

An excellent addition to the Land Craft series of books. Full of great historical information on Infantry Fighting Vehicles and some superb example models of the M2, M3 and other Bradley variants.

Vintage Airfix

Another excellent book aimed at the modeller (in my view anyway). This book details the origins of the infantry fighting vehicle moving on to the various versions of the title of the book. Again full of detailed write ups, black and white photos along with many colour photos and descriptions. Following on from this, details of the various available models and accessories again, along with photographs, descriptions and recommendations for the builds. These books to me, are excellent for the purpose.

IPMS Keighley

"The author goes into detail in every section and offers a good deal of information on the design of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the necessary upgrades, features, deployments, combat actions and combat effectiveness of the vehicles."

Lavishly illustrated throughout with very comprehensive captions this book is essential reading for those interested in modern armour. This is one of the best in the Land Craft series and is highly recommended to model makers and military historians interested in the M2 and M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles.

Miniature Armoured Fighting Vehicles Association

"The usual Craft plethora of visuals are embedded: 56 color photos of the vehicle, 83 color photos of models (two 1/72 scale and two 1/35 scale versions are featured), kit box covers, and accessories, seven black and white photos, one less than useful color map, and 13 color camouflage profiles. If you can't find a color scheme that impresses you, it doesn't exist."

"There are also a good number of color profiles as well as a fairly good sized modeling section that provides built models and information on kits and accessories."

The LandCraft and TankCraft series are aimed at modellers, but have proved very popular with military history enthusiasts, due to the excellent Introductory text. The M2 Bradley covered by this book was a Cold War design that has seen a great deal of service in the Balkans and Middle East, proving to be a high effective and versatile vehicle – Very Highly Recommended

I am a fan of this LandCraft series, a well balanced mix of information on the story of the real vehicle, accompanied by many photos of them in service, coupled with a set of fine colour artwork illustrating different variants along with their camouflage & markings, along with a Modellers' Showcase with some first-class examples of built models plus detail of the available models and accessories that can be found in different scales. Very nicely done and ideal for modellers.
